Non-Profit Evaluation & Resource Center, Inc. (NPERCI) is the first evaluation and resource center for non-profit organizations in Puerto Rico. NPERCI is an independent not-for-profit organization, which serves as an external evaluation center dedicated to promote standards of excellence in the non-governmental sector, evaluating non-profit organizations and certifying those that comply with the standards of excellence. NPERCI is the first and sole external evaluation agency in Puerto Rico that awards the Certification of Institutional Excellence^© and the Grand Seal of Institutional Excellence^© through the Comprehensive Standards of Excellence Program^©.

The Comprehensive Standards of Excellence Program^© is a voluntary, capacity building, self-regulation system, based in a model that promotes integrity, transparency, and accountability in the Third Sector, strengthening non-profit organizations. The purpose of the Comprehensive Standards of Excellence Program^© is to identify those organizations that comply with the standards of excellence as accountable organizations, committed with integrity and excellence and in which the public can trust. This facilitates the decision-making process of foundations, private funding entities and government when selecting and assigning funds to a non-profit organization.

 

In addition, NPERCI focuses on empowering non-profit organizations through information, education, and support services and is committed to support non-profit organizations in their efforts to achieve institutional excellence.

 

Our mission is to provide the philanthropic community and non-profit organizations, through research, evaluation and capacity building, the key resources for their development and strengthening, promoting critical thinking and generating innovative solutions to improve the quality of life of the communities.

 

Our vision is to be recognized as the resource of preference for attaining institutional excellence and to promote social change and progress, through the development of the philanthropic and non-profit sectors.

 

Our goals are:

 

· To promote integrity, transparency and accountability in the Third Sector.

· To promote the utilization of standards of excellence.

· To foster training and professional development and generate new knowledge to promote sound governance and responsible management and administration among non-profit organizations.

· To facilitate decision-making in the philanthropic sector, non-profit sector, government, private sector, and community at large, through the dissemination of the results of research and evaluation studies conducted by NPERCI.

· To facilitate social change and progress through the strengthening of current projects and/or the development of new ones.
